FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – Prosecco & Wine Online Shop
1. What is the difference between Prosecco and Champagne?
Prosecco is an Italian sparkling wine from the Veneto region and is primarily made from the Glera grape. Champagne, on the other hand, comes exclusively from France (Champagne) and is produced using the traditional bottle fermentation method. Prosecco is generally fresher, fruitier, and lighter in taste – ideal as an aperitif or for special occasions.
2. How is Prosecco made?
Prosecco is produced using the Charmat method. In this process, the second fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, which particularly preserves the fruity aromas of the Glera grape.
3. What do Brut, Extra Dry, Dry, and Extra Brut mean for Prosecco?
These terms describe the residual sugar content and thus the taste:
- Extra Brut: very dry, minimal residual sugar
- Brut: dry and fresh
- Extra Dry: slightly fruity with a delicate sweetness
- Dry: distinctly sweeter and softer
Depending on taste and occasion, each style is suitable for different moments of enjoyment.

"Millesimato" refers to a Prosecco made exclusively from grapes of a single vintage. This results in a particularly characterful sparkling wine that reflects the characteristics of a specific harvest year.
